This listing is for a single rare whisky color shell cordovan wallet. This is a full-sized bifold wallet. The edges are uniquely finished by hand with a leather stain and sealed by applying a hand-made wax blend after sanding and burnishing. The thread used to hand sew these wallets is a durable waxed cream color .55mm poly-twist thread. I apply the small crease near the edge by hand with a heated creasing iron. This gives the wallet a more refined appearance and helps to protect the edge from moisture intrusion.
Shell cordovan is a rare and sought-after leather, and this particular shell is from the Shinki Hikaku tannery in Japan. Often shoes made from shell cordovan will need to be resoled many times before the shell wears out. It is a highly durable material.
This shell has an exceptional shine that gives it class and elegance.
The materials used to make this wallet are of the highest quality and very difficult to obtain for a single artisan. I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to purchase a batch of Shinki Hikaku shell cordovan but may not be as fortunate in the future. Unfortunately, this means that I may not be able to reproduce this wallet moving forward and that once these are sold out, there is no guarantee I can make any more.
